The two last Fast Patrol Boat type OCEA FPB 72 MKII “MALAMAWI” and “KALANGGAMAN” are with the Philippines Coast Guards since the 5th December.

The training of the maintenance team and the crews of the “MALAMAWI” and “KALANGGAMAN” already started in Manila with the OCEA instructors to allow the commissioning of these two new boats in the PCG fleet by the beginning of 2019.

These multipurpose Fast Patrol Boats will join their sister ships “BORACAY” and “PANGLAO” already commissioned by the Philippines Coast Guards on 17th October 2018 and operated jointly with the Philippines Customs to reinforce the anti-smuggling operations and Search and Rescue capabilities across the country.

They complete the acquisition of four patrol boats type OCEA FPB 72 MKII by the Department of Transportation for the PCG, before the arrival in 2019 of the 84 m Offshore Patrol Vessel type OCEA OPV 270 MKII.
