Nigeria FPB 72 MKII contract confirmed

Further to an international RFP, the Nigerian Navy awarded OCEA for the building of two new 24 m Fast Patrol Boat type OCEA FPB 72 MKII and just confirmed the contract enforcement for a delivery in 2017. These multipurpose boats, sister ships of the BADAGRY, BOMADI and OKPOKU already operated by the Nigerian Navy since 2012, are designed to ensure all typical coast guard missions such as:

  • patrol, control and surveillance of territorial waters,
  • enforcement of laws and treaties at sea;
  • fight against piracy and illegal activities: smuggling, crimes, illegal immigration and illegal fishing activities;
  • search and rescue.
