Deliveries OCEA OSV 190 SPICA

October 2015: Delivery of the second OCEA OSV 190 SC-WB, « KRI SPICA 934 »

“KRI SPICA 934”, the sister ship of “KRI RIGEL 933”, was delivered by OCEA to the Indonesian Navy on 17th October 2015.

These two vessels are the first of an ambitious global project initiated by the Indonesian Navy, which aims is to develop its oceanographic and hydrographic fleet for a better knowledge of the seabed and waters of the Indonesian archipelago; project in which OCEA will participate in the long term.

In a country of more than 17 000 islands, the need is obviously very important, for maritime security but also in the passenger transportation or maritime environment management activities for which OCEA’s offer is fully adapted. The willingness to develop maritime activity in the country has also been defined by the President Jokowi as a priority for the country.
